Chesterton’s European Market

Chesterton, Indiana is perched right on the tip of Lake Michigan. It’s the place to be if you love “lake effect” snow. It’s also the host of the European Market! Every Saturday from May through October, it’s the place to go. It’s sensory overload and I love it. I take it all in. The flowers, pastries, wine, cheese, art, woodcraft, photography, vegetables, jewelry, handmade rugs, did I mention food? If you ever find yourself passing through Indiana, stop in and enjoy this gem of a Market.

They sell the most incredible pretzel rolls I’ve ever had. Seriously, the best.

Look for this sign next to the “Espress Yourself” coffee truck. Buy a bag or four of these rolls then get a cup of coffee. Thank me later.

“Espress Yourself” Coffee. Love it!

I’ve never met two nicer people. They sell dried vegetables & fresh produce for Lehman’s Orchard.

Every Saturday this nun is here. She sells delicious pastries. All of the money made goes to a soup kitchen.

After you’ve spent a few hours at the market, you can relax in Thomas Centennial Park and start thinking about your next visit.
