“Abandoned”

I’m always intrigued by things that have been abandoned. I wonder what the story is; How did it get there? What secrets do they hold? Recently, I was lucky enough to come upon a little “abandonment” in the woods.

First, there was this. Hmmmmmmmm It was a rope, not an electric wire or anything. How serious could they be?

It was a nice hike in the woods; eerily quiet too.

Then I spotted this:

I wondered how long it had been there. Did animals live inside? Where did the back of the truck go?

I turned around and about 50′ away I saw this truck who had met the same fate. This one still had part of the truck bed on it, but over the years it had been covered with branches and fallen trees.

I looked inside to get a glimpse of a little history: Mostly what I got a glimpse of was dirt, but it was surprisingly in decent shape.

Another picture of the first truck and then I went back under the “Keep Out” sign. No harm done. 🙂

  3. I have a couple in the acreage next to my place – I always wonder how they got them so deep into the woods. Great shots and a really cool post.

  4. This looks like one of my adventures. Nothing like bushwacking and finding surprises.
