“Sometimes I arrive just when God’s ready to have someone click the shutter.”
― Ansel Adams
Today I went out to shoot photos of a little wildlife. Timing was everything catching the graceful landing of a Blue Heron.
The landing gear starts to come down
Picture Perfect Landing 🙂
I see this hawk all the time perched on top of this church steeple. This morning…….I had my zoom lens with me.
We’ve noticed these little beauties in the yard recently. It’s the first time we’ve seen them here.
15 miles of coastline, over 70 miles of trails and more than 350 species of bird…..Come for a visit; you won’t be disappointed!
“I hear like you see — like the hummingbird outside that window for instance.”
Imprinting. The first living thing a goose sees when it’s born, it automatically assumes is its mother.
Be a gentle friend to trees and they will give you back beauty, cool and fragrant shade, and many birds, singing.
I was sitting on the patio earlier today and saw this male hummingbird resting in a tree.
- “Use what talents you possess: The woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.”
― Henry Van Dyke
“Did you ever see an unhappy horse? Did you ever see a bird that had the blues? One reason why birds and horses are not unhappy is because they are not trying to impress other birds and horses.”
– Dale Carnegie
I feel a responsibility to my backyard. I want it to be taken care of and protected.
I took all of these pictures in my backyard. 🙂
As long as there are bluebirds, there will be miracles and a way to find happiness.
The female Bluebird flying in some lunch for her babies. She seems to have overshot the runway a little. They can’t all be perfect.
“Great photos won’t come knocking on your door. Get outside; enjoy the view.” Click to tweet!
I was sitting on the patio earlier this evening and I spotted this guy. A peaceful ending to the day.
It’s a random kinda day with random kinda pictures. Enjoy.

Gotta love nature 🙂
It’s been a hot weekend in Indiana. I think today the thermometer said 90, so instead of yard work, I opted to sit on the patio with a cold drink and my camera. I watched the birds perching on branches and fence posts with their beaks open, trying to stay cool. We have three birdbaths in the yard so they spent a good portion of the day visiting them all.
I turned the sprinkler on so it would go over a couple of the birdbaths. This female Bluebird was enjoying the spray.
The male bluebird never did get in, he just let the sprinkler go over him.
After all the birds were finished playing in the water, I got a shot of the male and female bluebird scoping out the nesting box.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my photos. I appreciate the visit.
I headed to the beach early in the morning last weekend with coffee and my camera to get a few shots before the world woke up.
